|Spouting Alfalfa is very easy! You will find a variety of sprouting seed trays available to buy but I find the good old 'Jam Jar' method just as easy......
Directions: Place 1/4 of a tablespoon of seeds in to a jam jar* and rinse with warm water. Cover the neck of the jar with muslin and secure with an elastic band. Turn the jar upside down to drain off the excess water. Store the jam jar in a warm, dark place (airing cupboard) rinsing and draining the sprouts at least twice a day. Your Alfalfa sprouts will be ready to eat within about 3 days and will keep well in the fridge for a further 3 days in a sealed container (temperature 5 degrees or less).
* It is recommended that equipment used for sprouting seeds should be cleaned thoroughly using hot soapy water. Please wash your hands before and after handling seeds.
